5 military commandants detained for running from terrorist

The commanders are currently being detained at
the 23 Brigade headquarters in Yola, the state
capital.
The Nigerian military has reportedly arrested five
commanders who allegedly fled from a Boko
Haram attack in Mubi , Adamawa State .
The commanders are currently being detained at
the 23 Brigade headquarters in Yola, the state
capital, according to Sahara Reporters.
The terrorists launched an attack on the army HQ
on Wednesday, October 29 and were initially
repelled by troops but the insurgents eventually
won the battle and took control.
A military source told Punch that five commanders
and one Lt. Col were arrested.
“Today (Sunday), the military authorities arrested
five commanders around the Mubi axis of
Adamawa State. The sixth is a Lt. Col. Some of
those arrested were at Mararaba, Madagali,
Michika and other locations. I think the military
leaders are saying that the soldiers did not resist
the Boko Haram when they invaded the place,” he
said.
Defence officials are reportedly investigating the
incident to ascertain the true reason why the
commanders and their troops fled.
