Members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party
(PDP) in the House of Representatives have
said they would proceed with impeachment
moves against the Speaker, Aminu Tambuwal
unless they are given automatic tickets by the
party.
It was gathered by Daily Trust that the
lawmakers reached this resolve during their
meeting over the weekend in Abuja.
According to them, the party must guarantee
their return tickets before they can move
against Tambuwal.
A top ranking PDP member who pleaded
anonymity said: “Very few of us are sure of
returning to the House because our governors
have already pencilled down those that will take
over our seats, therefore, we decided that if the
party wants us to impeach the Speaker, it must
as a matter of necessity also give us automatic
return tickets.”

Another source said: “ We are also insisting that
we won’t sign for the House to reconvene until
the issue of our tickets is sorted out by the
party .”
The source said the 160 PDP lawmakers are
scheduled to meet today by 8 p.m. with the
party’s national working committee at the
Wadata Plaza in Abuja, to make known their
request to national chairman of the party, Adamu
Mu’azu.
Last Tuesday, Tambuwal had defected from the
PDP to the APC and adjourned sitting to
December 3.
Following his defection, his security details were
withdrawn , prompting the Speaker to file a legal
action in the Federal High Court, Abuja.
The PDP and the presidency are said to be
pushing for his removal as speaker.
According to report, the PDP is also planning a
shocker for Tambuwal as he may be barred
from entering his office.
