Python attacks woman and tries to drag her down the drain

A 57-year-old woman was brutally attacked by
a giant snake in her own home, Samkok,
Thailand.
An unusual incident occurred when Rampeung
Onlamai got out of the shower and was
immediately attacked by the snake that hid in
the toilet. The python bit the woman on her right
hand and even attempted to pull her back down
the toilet so it could eat her for dinner.

But Rampeung grabbed a nearby broom to fend
it off and screamed for her daughter’s help who
rushed to her rescue and pried the python’s
head off her hand. After the unsuccessful attack
the python eventually slithered back down the
toilet.

The woman was rushed to hospital
where, where she had to have 20 stitches in her
right hand. She is now recovering in hospital
while the snake is being hunted by local
authorities.

Python is a genus of non-venomous pythons
found in Africa and Asia. Thailand home to 175
species of snakes, 48 of which are deadly and
although pythons are not venomous, large
pythons can inflict very serious bites,
sometimes requiring stitches.
