UNIBEN witnessed a gruesome murder last Friday.
A 300-level student of the institution was hacked
to death with an axe by suspected cultists.
A 300-level student of the University of Benin
(UNIBEN), Gbenedio Ejyroghene , has been killed by
unidentified assailants suspected to be cultists.
Student Pulse gathered that Ejyroghene was
attacked with an axe at the institution's Ugbowo
Campus at about 7:00 pm last Friday.
He died on the spot after he was hit on the head
with an axe.
Confirming the gruesome killing, UNIBEN's
spokesman, Barrister Harris Osarenren, said an
official report has been filed at the Ugbowo police
station following the murder.
He also revealed that Ejyroghene's body has been
deposited at the University of Benin Teaching
Hospital (UBTH) mortuary.
Late Ejyroghene was until his death a student of
UNIBEN's Department of Chemistry.
